How do we get our Givebacks Rewards payouts as a Givebacks organization?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

If your organization has a Givebacks store, you will receive your Rewards payouts in your weekly Friday payout. You will not need to take any action to initiate them. Your Rewards payout will be listed as a separate transaction on the payout report.

Participation in the Givebacks Rewards feature is automatic for any organization with an active Givebacks site. Once your site is active, supporters can select your organization, and any eligible shopping Rewards will be attributed to your account. This seamless integration ensures that organizations can start benefiting from the Rewards feature as soon as their Givebacks site is operational.

The Givebacks Rewards feature is designed to help organizations raise funds effortlessly through eligible shopping activities by their supporters. Below, we provide an overview of how the feature works and the associated payout timelines.

To protect donors' privacy, you will not see transaction-level details. However, you can view the total amount each donor generated in the Raised by Rewards column of the Contact table. As merchants verify Rewards transactions, the funds are disbursed to your organization. This process can lead to discrepancies between the dashboard totals and actual payouts, as the dashboard may include pending rewards that are not yet confirmed by merchants.

Rewards earned through the Givebacks platform are subject to a verification process by merchants, which can take up to 180 days. This ensures that all transactions are properly verified before funds are distributed. Pending rewards are amounts that have been earned but are still awaiting confirmation from the merchant. If a merchant declines or reverses a reward, the amount is removed from the dashboard total and will not be included in the payout.

Why are there discrepancies between dashboard totals and payouts in Givebacks?

Discrepancies between the dashboard totals and actual payouts can occur due to the way rewards are processed and confirmed. Below, we explain the key factors contributing to these differences and how the system handles pending rewards and merchant processing.

Common Questions About Reward Discrepancies

  1. Why is my payout lower than the dashboard total?

    • The dashboard total includes pending rewards that have not yet been confirmed by merchants. Payouts only reflect confirmed rewards.

  2. What happens if a merchant does not pay out a reward?

    • If a merchant declines or reverses a reward, the amount is removed from the dashboard total and will not be included in the payout.

Transfer Fees

To process your Rewards, we are required by law to use a third-party compliance company. This company charges a small fee to process the payout. This fee is assessed on each transfer, meaning each deposit made to your organization. The fee is 3.25%+1 cent.

By understanding these processes, organizations can better plan and manage their fundraising efforts using the Givebacks Rewards feature. This includes being aware of potential discrepancies between dashboard totals and payouts due to pending rewards and merchant processing.
