How to add Videos to your Messages or Newsletters

Updated yesterday

Givebacks does not recommend embedding videos in email messages or newsletters as the ability to view embedded content is dependent on whether the recipient's email client can support the video. However, you can still share videos in your email messages by inserting a still image of the video and creating a link. To follow this tutorial, you will want to host your video someplace like YouTube or on Google Drive. You will need the sharing link for your video to follow this guide.

Linking a video in your message

1. The first step will be to add an image.

Pro Tip: Use a screenshot of the video or the video's thumbnail.

2. After you have added your image to your message or newsletter, scroll down. On the right-hand side of your screen, you will see an action box when you have the image selected. Under this action box is a space for a URL. Enter the URL you want the video to link to into this box.

3. Don't forget to click Next and when done, Save at the top of the screen.

4. In the sent email, users will be able to click on the Image to Open/view the video.
