Understanding Point of Sale Settings

The Point of Sale Settings allow you to adjust payment types, processing fees, and checkout/order settings. To access the Point of Sale Settings, select Mobile POS from the toolbar, then POS Settings.

Payment Types

Enable the payment types you want to offer in the POS app.

Card Reader - Turn this setting on to connect a Stripe card reader to securely accept credit card payments in person.

Cash Payment - Turn this setting on to easily record and collect in-person cash payments.

Processing Fees

There are transaction fees for all purchases made through Givebacks. You may choose who pays the processing fees for in-person sales when using the Point of Sale app, separate from online purchases made through your store.

By default, the fees are passed on to the payor. However, you may choose to cover the fees as an organization. To change your fee setting for in-person sales, go to the Processing Fees section under the POS Settings.

Note: To change your fee settings for online purchases, go to Store, then Settings.

Checkout & Order Settings

You have several setting options for managing transactions through the Givebacks Point of Sale.

Enable Quick Payments - Using Quick Payment allows you to manually enter a total amount for the transaction and quickly check out. You can still send a receipt, but no other product information will be collected.

Assign Account Code - Assign an account code for Quick Payments by clicking Edit Account Code and entering the desired account code. This account code will be assigned to every Quick Payment transaction.

Mark POS Orders as Fulfilled - Would you like to mark all orders purchased through the Point of Sale as fulfilled upon checkout? If so, turn the switch for this option on. This will eliminate the need to mark these orders as fulfilled under Ordered Items.
