The Click-to-Redeem feature makes event check-in easier for both organizers and attendees. Ticket holders can redeem their own tickets in the Givebacks app when they arrive at the event and show their confirmation at the gate.
This is especially helpful for organizations that:
Do not have enough devices available for scanning tickets
Have limited or unreliable Wi-Fi at the event
Want a faster, more flexible check-in experience
In this article, you'll learn how admins enable the feature, how purchasers and ticket holders use it, and a few best practices for a smooth event-day experience.
Enabling click-to-redeem for a ticketed event
Admins enable this feature when creating or editing a ticketed event. If you want attendees to redeem their own tickets from the Givebacks app, make sure Click-to-redeem is turned on before the event goes live.
From the General Details section of your ticketed event, scroll to Allow attendee self check-In.
Toggle on Allow attendee self check-in.
Click Save & Continue.
For ticket holders: How to redeem a ticket
When a ticket holder arrives at the event, they can redeem their ticket directly in the Givebacks app or through a browser at givebacks.com/home.
Open and sign in to the Givebacks app.
Click Account, then click Tickets.
Select the event you’re attending.
Open the eligible ticket and click Check In.
Review the check-in prompt and make sure the correct tickets are selected.
Click Yes, Check In.
Review the check-in details or confirmation.
Show the confirmation to staff at the gate or entrance. This process helps confirm that the ticket has been used and gives event staff a quick visual confirmation at check-in.
Important Note: Attendees should purchase tickets online before the event and wait until they are physically at the event to click redeem on their ticket.
This is important because redeeming the ticket too early may cause confusion at check-in. Waiting until arrival helps ensure the redemption status matches the attendee’s actual entry into the event.
